I’m nearly 2 weeks behind with AKB48′s drama so forgive me for posting this.
At the end of the 2nd episode, we saw a familiar face entering school and in episode 3 it’s time for the Genking to shine.
Tough girl Sae is seen to protect Maeda from a gang from another school. Is she in love with her? If she is it’s not a popular choice with Daruma who’s very protective of Maeda…..not that she cares about it. She secretly follows Maeda and Daruma like a stalker – taking photos with her cell phone and even saving Maeda from a flying baseball bat! In a small subplot, the 4 bosses of the Rappappa clan are out in a show of strength to tell everybody who’s in charge but we’re still no clearer as to why Yuko is at the hospital.
As the episode winds it’s way towards the climax we find out that Sae wasn’t in love with Maeda after all but with Daruma and she wants to fight Maeda for her affection on the school roof top!! It’s an even stevens battle at first but eventually Maeda gets the upper hand and finishes Sae off. Watching the fight from a distance is Mayuyu who has a smile on her face. I wonder what the little minx is thinking of?
I loved the 3rd episode – it had a good balance of drama and a little bit of comedy involving a gang from another school. Sae’s character was great and I didn’t expect that twist for her to like Daruma and not Maeda. There was no real progression of sorts on the storyline. I suspect that might not happen until Takamina’s character is introduced.
Episode 4 looks superb with a triangle of terror which includes Myao and Oku in loli gear stepping up to the plate to challenge Maeda. Judging from the bruises on her face, this trio could be her most dangerous opponents yet. Can’t wait to see this one.
