As part of AKB48 ‘s continuing drive to raise money for the Tohoku earthquake appeal, outfits which they wore for the PV of Everyday Kachuusha have been put up on Yahoo Auctions since the 6th July and is due to end on 12th July. There has been a lot of interest already in the outfits and just after a day since the auction started a bid of 1 million yen (12 thousand USD) had already been registered. However nobody was prepared to see somebody make a massive bid of 1 billion yen (12 million USD) for the outfits. The auction was stopped temporarily and the bid deleted as they couldn’t verify the identity of the bidder. It was probably made by somebody as a joke. The auction reopened with the winning bidder put on 400,000 yen (5,000 USD). To date there has been over 700 bids put in for the outfits.
Today the Fukushima, Iwate and Miyagi prefectures have been rocked with a very strong and powerful aftershock which registered 7.1 on the richter scale. A tsunami warning was given out and residents asked to flee to higher ground but thankfully it was lifted afterwards. A small tsunami measuring 10cm was recorded. There was no new damage or injuries and the still leaking Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant reported no fresh problems.
