AKB48 Dolls On Display At University Exhibition

6 02 2012

Japanese design company PetWORKs Co have designed and created 48 dolls made to look like AKB48. The dolls have gone on display at an exhibition at Kyoto University of Art & Design and have been a big hit with the general public who have been taking photos of their favorite AKB48 member doll.

Each 27 centimeter high doll has been made to be very accurate in appearance and they’ve been approved by none other than Aki-P, the Vice Principal of the university.

Before you all get excited and think that these dolls are going to hit the shops sometime in the future, PetWORKs said there are no plans at the present time to mass produce them even though many have asked. I think they’re missing out on a big opportunity here as a lot of AKB48 fans would buy these dolls. I would buy a couple that’s for sure. If you’re in Japan right now and thinking of heading over to see this exhibition just for the dolls you’re a bit too late as the exhibition finished yesterday.
