CDTV Top 20 Female Lovers 2010

CDTV ran it’s bi-annual chart over the weekend compiling which female music artist that Japanese men would like as their girlfriend/lover. It came up with some surprising results:

This is the 1st time ever for AKB48 members to appear on the list and there’s 3 of them in this chart. I’m shocked that Yukirin is no.2 and she even beats Acchan. I wonder how close she was to nabbing the top spot? I can understand how Japanese men have been won over by her charm and beauty. She’s a great girl and so nice to see a newcomer appear so high in the chart. I’m wondering how did Japanese men rate the women on – looks, personality??? If so, some of the names on the chart are a bit dubious….personality wise that is (naming no names!!).

I thought I’d make my own top 10 up. Here’s who I would have picked. My no.1 girl is obviously biased on my love for AKB48!!!

Mano Erina – Haru no Arashi PV

H!P soloist Mano Erina releases her 6th major single on the 24th February called Haru no Arashi. I know I’ve been slightly critical of her past couple of singles as she had such a promising start to her career but thankfully her new song readdresses the balance. I rather enjoyed it and it’s my favorite since Lucky Aura. Definitely gets the thumbs up over her summery upbeat pop songs anyday. The PV is cute and has a couple of the H!P Eggs as her backing dancers.

Mano Erina – Love & Peace = Paradise PV

I haven’t been that impressed with Mano Erina’s 4 major singles so far, in fact I think she’s taken a step backwards from her indie days but her new song (her 5th major single) Love & Peace = Paradise thankfully is a lot better than her last song. As for the PV, she’s too kawaii for words and is fabulous in the dress she wears in it. I could look at her all day long! The single is released on November 25th.

Mano Erina – Kono Mune no Tokimeki wo PV

The PV for Mano Erina’s 4th major single is now out on Youtube. It’s a nice ballady song but I’m of the opinion that the songs she’s released so far just aren’t that good as her indie singles. I have to say that after watching this young lady blossom over the past year Mano Erina has to be the most beautiful of all the girls in H!P right now (sorry Ai-chan, Maimi and JunJun). She looks sensational in a light-pink dress in the PV.

Mano Erina – Sekai wa Summer Party PV

Mano Erina’s 3rd major single comes out on July 29th but the PV is already out. When I heard the opening it reminded me of crappy Brit group S-Club 7’s song Reach. Sekai wa Summer Party doesn’t do anything for me I’m afraid, it’s probably her weakest single so far. She looks cute as per usual in her PV with the H!P Eggs helping out.

Mano Erina 2nd Major Single – Hajimete no Keiken PV (upbeat tune shocker!)

Coming so soon after the release of her 1st major single, Dohhh Up has just released the PV to her 2nd single which is coming out on the 20th May called Hajimete no Keiken. What’s so shocking about this song is believe or not…..it’s an upbeat tune! That’s more like what I want to hear from her – I like her slow tunes but it’s nice for her to release something that the fans aren’t expecting. The song will also serve as the theme tune to the net dorama Koisure Seiza in which Mano has an acting role in it. But back to the song……I really like this one and it’s far better than Otome no Ironi. The PV also features some backing dancers – they’re all H!P eggs. Mano herself looks as cute as ever in the PV.

AKB48 – 10nen Sakura 3rd Week Sales/No Sleeves/Mano Erina

Just to update you on what’s happening with AKB48 attempting to break 100k in sales with 10nen Sakura. The bad news is they didn’t manage to do it this week. They sold an additional 3,689 copies pushing the total up to 96,290 and dropping down to no.22 in the charts. Only 3,710 copies need to be sold in order to reach the magic figure and it is certainly achievable over the next couple of weeks.

No Sleeves, the splinter unit from AKB48 consisting of Takamina, Kojiharu and Miichan broke into the Top 10 with their newest single Tane. It sold 15,304 getting them to no.8 in the charts.

H!P soloist Mano Erina also released her debut major single last week and did extremely well charting in at no.5 with 20,812 copies sold of Otome no Inori. Well done!

Mano Erina – Otome no Inori PV

Three weeks ago I mentioned that the young H!P soloist Mano Erina would be releasing her major debut single Otome no Inori on the 18th March and now the PV to that song has been released.

Firstly about the song itself which I absolutely love. It’s a nice ballady type tune with a wonderful piano melody which has a very soothing quality to it. The song suits her voice well. I can imagine the song being used for an anime.

The PV though is disappointing and low budget. It’s got her stuck in a room completely covered with tiles which are colored 2 shades of pink and a white grand piano. It showcases her piano playing skills and  she changes costumes a couple of times but that’s about it. She looks so adorable though in it and she flashes a beautiful smile towards the camera right at the end. Considering it’s her debut, UFA should have put out all the stops and made a much more exciting PV. It’s basically the same as Aya’s Chocolate Tamashii PV except she was in a room full of chocolate boxes. Very lazy by UFA.

Mano Erina’s Major Debut Date Revealed

The brilliant soloist Mano Erina who after releasing 3 fantastic indie singles last year is finally getting her major debut on March 18th with the single Otome no Inori.

There’ll be 3 different first edition versions of the single as well as being a regular version. Those fans lucky enough to buy a first edition will be put into a draw for a special event held in 5 cities.

As well as releasing her single, it’s also been announced that she’ll be having 2 concerts in June.

I’m looking forward to hearing her new single and I hope it’s going to be a big success. She’s a very charming young lady who you can’t help but like. Good luck to her I say, she deserves it.

The Talented Mano Erina

I can’t believe I haven’t mentioned this talented young girl yet in my blog but there’s no time like the present. 17 year old Mano Erina started out life in H!P as one of the Eggs in 2006 before joining Ongaku Gatas. Tsunku saw the potential in her to leave that group and go it alone as a soloist. So far she’s released 2 indie singles and both have been really good. Her new web blog is being translated into English like many other H!P artists and it gives an insight into what she’s like as a person, what she enjoys doing outside H!P and what she does at work as an artist. She’s very cute, has got a lovely smile this girl and I hope they give her an opportunity soon to release a major single.
