3 new additions to SKE48 have been added over the past couple of days.
Shiori Ogiso joins Team KII
Yukiko Kinoshita and Akira Suda join Team S.
All 3 of them will be appearing in SKE48’s new single Aozora Kataomoi which is released on the 24th March.
This very funny clip from Downtown DX has Yuko being put on the spot after a letter is sent in to Hamada & Matsumoto regarding an incident at Ueno Station between Yuko and Kojima. I won’t spoil what the letter contains so just watch it. Miki Fujimoto also appears in the clip.
Another round of Shojiki Shouji and perhaps one of the most entertaining ones we’ve ever had.

She only passed the first question. The 2nd question to Acchan was hilarious as she wrote SATH DAY for Thursday!! Yuko also copped it for the last question but worse was to follow for her!

Kojima was forced to say she doesn’t like Yuko. Poor Yuko. I don’t know how anybody can dislike her. The look on Yuko’s face was priceless. I hope Kojima makes up with her!

On the day that No Sleeves’ new single came out, you bought an anime song CD.
Honestly, coming from a person that’s called a CG, Takahashi Minami’s idol antics are NG.
You’ve been talking to Minegishi Minami often lately but, there’s no aspect that you respect.
Mayuyu failed with all her questions so Kojima won. Seeing the camera pan on the faces of Takamina, Yuko and Miichan was funny! Takamina always gets picked on in the Shojiki segments. It’s not fair, leave Takamina alone!!!!
Next up was a brand new segment – Haru Natsu Aki skit. In this skit Akicha pretends to be a nice cute idol in front of guests with Sata as her helper but when the guests leave her room she turns into a yankii. This was kinda fun to watch.
It’s promotion time after the skit as it shows several members picking material for a new necktie for what purpose I didn’t understand properly and more publicity for Acchan’s new PB.
We have a live performance from the recent Shibuya AX concerts of Majisuka Rock n Roll before the preview of next week’s episode which is a retrospective of previous shows.
This was a really good episode today with many truths being exposed by the lying machine on Shojiki Shougi. I felt sorry for Yuko and Takamina though. Disappointing to know that there won’t be a proper episode next week.
Mark your diairies down for the 7th April 2010 as that will be the day that AKB48 will be releasing their Greatest Hits CD which comes along with a bonus DVD which includes making-of footage. The CD is expected to have 15 tracks in total. The CD will also contain 2 new songs – no titles as of yet. In case you’re thinking that this is a greatest hits album right from the very beginning when they debuted then your sadly mistaken. This will be more of a greatest hits for the last 2 years or so after they moved from Defstar to King Records.
I’ve had to shorten this week’s charts to feature just the Top 10 as the website where I usually get the information about the Top 30 hasn’t updated plus I’m not good enough in Japanese to translate song titles from the official Oricon website. If I manage to find another site with the full Top 30 countdown in English I’ll update this post.
Onto this week’s charts. As if we didn’t know already but at least it’s official AKB48 destroyed the opposition as it bulldozed it’s way to the top spot. Final sales figures for the week were 318k and it was no.1 in the daily rankings for the entire week. Will it stay at no.1 next week. Probably not but I have high hopes it might stay in the Top 10. There’s 6 new entries in the Top 10 including an awful song Banana Mango High School by an AV idol group called Ebisu Muscats at no.8. Whilst the girls involved are great to look at in the PV, the song itself has to be one of the worst I’ve ever heard as they really can’t sing properly. Stick to your day job girls! How this got into the Top 10 I cannot fathom! The only new tune I really like in the Top 10 is fripside’s new tune LEVEL5~Judgelight which came in at no.4.

And this week’s RASC Top 30 video countdown
No significant drop in sales today as AKB48 sold 9,171 copies of Sakura no Shiori today bringing the grand total now to 311,376. The next target for the girls is to try and overtake KAT-TUN’s total for their last single which stands at 354,231. If sales continue to be steady in the 2nd week there’s a good chance that they could overtake KAT-TUN and become the highest selling single of 2010 so far.
SKE48 member Yui Matsushita is out for what could be approximately 6 months after she injured her foot during a recent performance with Team S. It’s pretty serious as she may need surgery. I’m not really sure what happened during the performance for her to get this injury but I hope she gets well very soon.
The two Tomomi’s (Itano & Kasai) are releasing a single together as a tie-in to their appearances on Kamen Rider W. The unit which is called Queen & Elizabeth are set to release their song called Love Wars on the 31st March. There’s already a preview of the song from an episode of Kamen Rider W (see below). It’s likely that Love Wars will be the only single the two will make together.
On the 5th day of sales for Sakura no Shiori the number of copies sold went down to 4 figures – 9,166 but the good news is that AKB48 have broken the 300k mark. The grand total now stands at 302,205. Well done girls – 300k in one week is a outstanding achievement but the week isn’t over yet so the total will push up a little bit more. We’ll see the final total for the week on Wednesday when the official Oricon Charts come out.
Today’s sales figures was 11,529 copies bring the grand total up to 293,039. They’re edging closer to that 300k mark, only 6,961 to go. They should reach that figure by tomorrow I reckon.
