AKB48 x Hello Kitty Launch Event/Acchan’s Drama Ratings Improve

26 07 2011

As I reported earlier this month, AKB48 and Hello Kitty are collaborating on a range of products which are coming out on general release to the public such as notepads for example next month. Today saw Kitarie, Sasshi, Chiyuu, Akicha and Miichan attend the launch event at Sanrio Puroland. The five came out with some ridiculous comments like Kitty-chan is a senpai to idols but the best was from Chiyuu who said Kitty-chan’s movements are cute and I want to learn from her. No doubt it pleased the kiddies who adore Hello Kitty. Some of the members would like to collaborate with other Sanrio characters in the future.

Last week I said that Acchan’d drama Hana no Kimi 2011 had dropped woefully in the ratings to a meagre 6.0. The ratings did improve slightly to 7.9 with the 3rd episode. The problem with Hana ni Kimi is the number of episodes could be cut from 11 to 9 if ratings don’t drastically improve in the next 2 or 3 weeks. Kojima who is starring in the drama “Ikemen desu ne” is holding steady in the ratings so far at 11.0, improving by 0.1 percent.

Kojima Gets A Leading Role In A Drama

6 06 2011

AKB48 member Kojima Haruna has won herself a leading role in a Japanese remake of a Korean Drama “You’re Beautiful” which will be named “Ikemen Desu Ne”.

Kojima will play the role of Nana, a popular idol who whilst looking all cute and innocent on the outside is actually quite a malicious person on the inside.  The plot will revolve around a boy band “A.N.JELL”. Kojima’s character becomes involved in a relationship scandal with the group’s leader. The media are saying this is the first time for Kojima to be cast in a leading role though you could argue the fact that her role in Mendol was a leading one too. I’m sure Kojima will be great in the drama.

TBS will air the drama next month on Friday nights at 10pm.

Kojiharu Fainted During TV Show Recording

22 05 2011

A tabloid magazine “BreakMax” has picked up a story that remained a secret until they published it in their pages regarding a recent incident that happened for Kojima Haruna.

Apparently during the recording for the “Mecha Mecha Iketeru” special that was aired on April 9th, Kojima fainted and hit her head on a desk. Sasshi and Sayaka were two other AKB48 members appearing on the show.  Staff working on the show had noticed that something was amiss when Kojima felt giddy and failed to respond to the show’s host Okamura teasing her about a wrong answer. The recording was stopped whilst everybody rushed to check if she was alright. Kojima regained consciousness quickly and apologised for making everybody worry for her. The rest of the recording passed without incident. During all of the drama, Sasshi and Sayaka remained cool, calm and collected – they’ve probably seen it all before with other members. Looking back on the incident, one Fuji TV staff member said Kojima looked tired and had bloodshot eyes. It makes you wonder how many times this sort of thing happens for AKB48 members.
