AKB48 61st Kouhaku Special Medley

The music spectacular Kouhaku is nearing its final stretch in Japan right now as we’re coming closer to 2011. Earlier on, AKB48 performed a special medley of their songs and were joined by SKE48 and NMB48. It truly was a fantastic performance by all of them which closed with them spelling out the words AKB48 – RED – V (as in victory for the Red team). The members have been popping up every now and then on the show after their medley including a wonderful collaboration on an anime song with Nana Mizuki. I think this year’s show has been amazing. Apart from AKB48, I thought Kana Uemura did a moving rendition of her song Toire no Kami Sama which nearly brought tears to my eyes.

Tomochin Gets A Cut On Her Lips

Yesterday saw Tomochin post an entry on her blog stating that she had cut her lips and was on the way to hospital to get it sorted. She didn’t say how she got the injury – either she fell during practice for Kouhaku or it’s due to stress.

Sasshi Gets Her Own TV Show!!

I’m so happy to hear that one of my favorite AKB48 members Rino Sashihara is getting her own 30 minute show starting in January. The show starts on January 11th in the 01.25am slot on TBS and is called “Sashiko no Kuseni ~Kono Bangumi wa AKB to wa Mattaku Kankei Arimasen~,”. So what’s Sasshi going to do in her show? According to sources, Japanese talento Teruyuki Tsuchida is going to be the MC on the show and giving Sasshi various challenges to conquer. Acchan will be the first guest on the show. This is definitely a TV show I’ll be checking out! Go Sasshi!!

PV Preview of French Kiss’ 2nd Single “If”

Mezamashi TV recently gave AKB48 sub-unit French Kiss fans a PV preview of their upcoming 2nd single “If”. The storyline for the PV somehow involves some kind of conflict between the trio interspersed with some dancing of the girls in Winter outfits. I quite like the song.
